Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel has secured the Silver Award in the Leading Airport Hotel category at the 10th Annual South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, marking a significant achievement for the hotel and Nepal's hospitality industry.

The prestigious recognition was presented during the SATA Grand Gala Award Ceremony held on October 8, 2026, at Barceló Nasandhura Malé in the Maldives. The award was presented by His Excellency Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Maldives, and received by Ashish Pant, General Manager of Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel, on behalf of the hotel and its dedicated team.
The achievement recognises the hotel's commitment to providing quality accommodation, professional service, and memorable guest experiences while strengthening its reputation among regional and international travellers.

Established in 2016, the South Asian Travel Awards has become a regional platform recognising outstanding achievements across the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. Celebrating its tenth edition in 2026, SATA brought together hospitality brands, tourism organisations, and industry professionals from across South Asia.
The awards follow an evaluation process in which 60 percent of the final score is based on technical assessments by an expert jury, while the remaining 40 percent comes from verified online public voting. Hotels are evaluated on service standards, operational performance, facilities, guest experiences, innovation, and sustainability.

This combination of professional assessment and public participation makes SATA an important platform for recognising hospitality excellence in the region.
Winning the Silver Award for Leading Airport Hotel is an important accomplishment for Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel, reflecting the collective efforts of its management and staff in delivering consistent hospitality services.
Located in Pingalasthan, Vijay Chowk, Kathmandu, the hotel offers convenient access to Tribhuvan International Airport and major cultural attractions, including Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa.
The property features 84 guest rooms and suites, dining facilities serving local and international cuisine, a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, complimentary Wi-Fi, and spaces for meetings and special events. These facilities cater to both business and leisure travellers seeking comfort and convenience in Kathmandu.
The recognition also highlights the growing competitiveness of Nepal's hospitality industry as the country continues to welcome visitors for cultural tourism, adventure, leisure, and business.

The award provides Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel with an opportunity to further strengthen relationships with travel partners, corporate clients, tourism organisations, and hospitality professionals across South Asia.
For the hotel, the recognition serves as encouragement to continue improving service standards, enhancing guest satisfaction, and creating memorable experiences for visitors.
As Nepal's tourism industry continues to develop, achievements at regional platforms such as SATA help showcase the quality and capabilities of the country's hospitality sector to a wider international audience.
Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel's Silver Award at SATA 2026 is therefore not only a proud achievement for the property but also another positive recognition for Nepal's presence in South Asian tourism.
