Shinta Mani Mustang has been recognised in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards, alongside The Dwarika's in Kathmandu.

Shinta Mani Mustang has been recognised in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards, placing the property among the highly regarded hotels in Asia. The Dwarika's in Kathmandu is also part of this year's "Rest of Asia" selection, making two properties from Nepal on the list.

Now in its 29th edition, the awards are based purely on votes from the publication's UK readership. Readers draw on their own travel experiences to recognise the destinations, hotels, travel experiences and people that have made their journeys memorable. According to the announcement, this year's results reflect an increasing appreciation for experiences rooted in local culture, culinary traditions and distinctive hospitality.

Shinta Mani Mustang was designed with a strong sense of place, with interiors by designer Bill Bensley reflecting the character of the Mustang landscape and its traditional architecture. The experience at the hotel is centred around discovery, culture, wellness and connection to place. Guests can explore Mustang's landscapes and living traditions through curated experiences, and the all-inclusive approach lets each stay be tailored to the guest's interests and pace.

"Our greatest privilege is being able to introduce guests to Mustang in a way that goes beyond simply visiting a destination," said Namgyal Sherpa, CEO of Sherpa Hospitality Group. "To be recognised by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller is a wonderful acknowledgement of the people and the experiences that make Shinta Mani Mustang what it is. We are especially proud to see two hotels from Nepal, which speaks to the growing interest in Nepal as a meaningful destination."

The property also has a strong focus on local employment, partnerships and community participation. By working closely with local people and suppliers, it aims to ensure that tourism contributes to the communities and environment in which it operates.

The recognition comes as international travellers increasingly look beyond traditional tourism routes towards destinations offering distinctive landscapes, culture, wellness and meaningful connections.
