GAI Food & Beverage and Hospitality 2023 promises to be an experience like no other in Nepal's culinary and hospitality landscape, shaping the future of the industry
In recognition of the remarkable growth in the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors in Nepal, the GAI Food & Beverage and Hospitality 2023 is set to be a groundbreaking event, the first of its kind in the country. With food and beverage becoming significant revenue generators for hotels and restaurants, the rise of "party palaces," the proliferation of take-away food outlets, street food vendors, and grocery stores in every corner, and the impending opening of more than 25 3- to 5-star hotels in the next few years, the industry is booming.
The food and beverage sector has seen a remarkable annual growth rate of 7.3% between 2006 and 2011, outpacing the overall manufacturing industry. Notably, the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry has achieved an astounding growth rate of 20%, in stark contrast to Nepal's general economic growth rate of 3% to 4%. In 2017-2018 alone, Nepal imported food and beverages worth Rs. 13,551 million but exported only Rs. 3,200 million, resulting in a trade deficit of Rs. 12,351 million within the food and beverage category.
The industry boasts a total of 25,500 establishments, with 24,940 dedicated to food product manufacturing and 560 engaged in beverage production. An impressive 93,806 individuals are employed in this sector, with 84,217 working in food product manufacturing and 9,589 in beverage production.
This year, GAI FBH 2023 introduces the FBH Mobile App and Registration as a key feature to enhance business visitor promotion. The mobile app simplifies off-site and on-site management for business visitors and facilitates data collection for exhibitors.
GAI FBH 2023 anticipates drawing nearly 30,000 visitors, including approximately 15,000 business visitors. The event aims to attract a diverse audience, including hoteliers, restaurant owners and managers, nightclub and bar proprietors, supermarket and grocery store owners, bakeries, snack manufacturers, agro-food processing manufacturers, caterers, chefs, bartenders, and baristas. While primarily a business-to-business event, it is expected to garner significant consumer interest.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wider array of products, services, producers, and suppliers, as the exhibitor pool has expanded by 25% compared to the previous year. GAI Food & Beverage and Hospitality 2023 will showcase around 5,000 products and services, featuring 200 companies and 150 booths spread across 1,800 square meters. Special events include the Sneak Preview Mocktail Reception and the Retailers Power Breakfast Reception, with many exhibitors offering promotional schemes during the exhibition. It's also a fantastic occasion to sample new foods and beverages hitting the holiday grocery markets, offering ample opportunities for observation, interaction, networking, and information acquisition.
GAI FBH 2023 serves as an invaluable platform for effective communication and marketing in the business realm. It enables live interactions with thousands of potential clients over just three days, an achievement impossible through any other medium. The event aims to showcase the potency of live marketing, setting a benchmark for 2023 and beyond.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to be part of this dynamic and influential event. GAI Food & Beverage and Hospitality 2023 promises to be an experience like no other in Nepal's culinary and hospitality landscape, shaping the future of the industry.
