Cathay Pacific, a Hong Kong based airline, is re-opening the new award winning Cathay Pacific Lounge on July 18 in Shanghai Pudong Airport. It is the first of the new award winning Cathay Pacific Lounges to enter Mainland China.
With the motive of ‘moving beyond’, the airline promises luxury, comfort and a superior experience for all passengers who are weary of their travels. Inspired by Studioilse, the London-based studio led by Ilse Crawford, the Shanghai Lounge follows lead of all other lounges across the world and showcases the same structure.
It is located near Departure Gate D69 in Pudong Airport’s Terminal 2 building. The lounge isn’t like any ordinary business set up; it reflects the feeling quite akin to a modern apartment. With materials such as Cherry wood and limestone, leather and Alcantara-upholstered designer furniture, the lounge has spaces for people who wish to socialise and for those who wish to spend the wait in solitude.
A unique specialty is the terrace, an L-shaped, open-ceiling verandah that overlooks the runway and the apron. The chairs too reek of comfort and has many different uses such as reading light and a side- table. Another feature is the Noodle Bar, a restaurant common to all Cathay Pacific lounges that serves cuisines that will leave all passengers satisfied. Apart from all this, high-speed Wi-Fi and Flight Information Display System screens ensure that passengers are refreshed before they take off to their respective journeys.
The Shanghai Pudong Cathay Pacific Lounge is open to First and Business Class passengers, Marco Polo Club Silver members, one world Emerald and Sapphire members, and members of all tiers holding a valid lounge pass. The lounge will be open from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm daily.
