The Division Forest Office, Tanahun has handed over Chhabdibarahi of Byas municipality-14 to the community as a religious forest. Division Forest Chief, Komal Raj Kafle handed over the ownership of the forest to Chhabdibarahi religious forest chairperson and Chhabdibarahi Trust chairperson, Than Bahadur Thapa.
Chief of Division Forest Office Byas, Narayan Koirala shared that the religious forest has been stretched over the area of five hectares. The forest area also includes the Chhabdibarahi temple.
“Efforts have been made for over 20-21 years to make it a religious forest. It has been materialized after more than two decades”, Koirala added.
The development trust has charted out a master plan to develop the Chhabdibarahi temple as the Centre of religious tourism. Thapa shared that the master plan was formulated to preserve the Chhabdibarahi temple, develop environment-friendly physical infrastructure and promote religious and rural agriculture tourism.
