Domukha, the main tourist area of ​​Jhapa, has recently become more attractive for domestic tourists. With the onset of winter in Domukha on the banks of the Kankai River in Shivasatakshi Municipality-9, the rush of people to eat and observe forest food has begun.

This place, which is one of the main tourist destinations of Province 1, has become more and more popular with tourists due to the rapid development of infrastructure.

Shivasatakshi Municipality has allocated the highest budget of the city here targeting the tourist area Domukha.

A children's park and a museum are also under construction in the Domukha tourist area. The municipality has allocated Rs 45 lakh for the construction of a swimming pool for the wall industry under construction.

Similarly, a multicultural museum is also being built in Domukha for more attraction of tourists. According to the municipality, an additional Rs 10 lakh has been allocated for the same museum. Dozens of Nepali movies and music videos have also been shot in Domukha, a picturesque area connected to Chure area, where a canal was constructed from the Kankai river. Tourists come to this place from various districts of Eastern Nepal as well as West Bengal, Sikkim, Vihar and other places of India.

According to Ramesh Timsina, the vice president of the Domukha Tourism Development Committee, “With the onset of winter, dozens of forest party teams and more than 1,000 tourists come here every day during the forest feast season.”

According to Mayor Roshan Topra, “Rs 6 crore has been allocated for Domukha itself. Two kilometers and 900 meters of road from Maidhar Chowk on East-West Highway to Domukha, which is connected to the Chure area, is being paved. Five crore rupees have been allocated for this. Tenders have been invited for this. After this road is paved, more tourists from eastern Nepal as well as bordering India are expected to come.” _RSS
