The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has formed a 7-member Committee to submit proposal to build a well-equipped hospital with isolation facility to control Covid-19 in Kathmandu district.

The Committee chaired by KMC ward no 3 chairperson Deepak KC include ward no 6 chair Dipendra Lama, ward no 7 chair Sudda Kumar Dangol, ward no 22 chair Chinikaji Maharjan, ward no 30 chair Dal Bahadur Karki and ward no 31’s chair Narayan Bhandari. 

The 61st meeting of the executives held on last Monday had dwelt on ways and means to contain the spread of Covid-19. The meeting concluded that establishment of a well-equipped Covid-19 Treatment Facilities was one of the effective ways to stem the the second wave of Covid-19.

The Committee will deliberate on the modality in which isolation facilities will be run, the modality in which the Covid-19 suspected and infected ones will be treated. Furthermore, it will furnish proposal to the KMC so as to build Covid-19 treatment facilities. 

The meeting had also decided to rope in health exeprts Dr Ganesh Gurung, Dr Arjun Karki, Dr Anup Subedi and Dr Sharad Onta to join the KMC’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
