Due to surge in the coronavirus cases following the relaxed lockdown, the government has decided to enforce the scheme of odd-even restriction in public and private vehicles from Thursday.

The public and private vehicles except the ones used for essential service will be operated based on odd-even scheme, according to the Home Ministry. Similarly, all passenger buses entering the federal capital, Kathmandu, will be prohibited from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Ministry Spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Budha shared that there will be no vehicles operating in the districts with over 200 active cases of coronavirus from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. He further informed that those violating the safety standard set by the Home Ministry and Health Ministry will face strict action. Movement along the country's border except for the authorized people is banned as per government decision.

The press release issued by Ministry Spokesperson stated that gathering, party, seminar and other group activities in hotel and restaurants are prohibited starting today. The respective district's Covid-19 crisis management centre can impose lockdown as per the risk of infection.
