Panchpokhari known both as religiously and culturally rich to be developed as a more prominent destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Arun Nepal on Monday inaugurated the study of the area in Panchpokhari Thangpal village municipality of Sindhupalchowk. A team with route study in association with mountaineer Maya Gurung has made public the schedule for the first ascent of Panchpokhari Peak and Yuva Peak from December 4 to December 18. The study of Panchpokhari Peak, Youth Peak Arohan and Tilman Pass has started.

The team will include Ward No. 3 Chairman Nimachiring Tamang, Indus Tourism Council's Milan Tamang, Tourism Advisor Somar Bomjan, First Tamang Everest Climber Kanchimaya Tamang, Everest Climber Dawa Jangbu Sherpa and Climbing Leader Tulsing Gurung. Speaking at a press meet in Kathmandu on Monday to inform about the preliminary study and objectives, Minister Nepal said that the study and ascent would open the Tilman Pass checkpoint connected to Rasuwa's Gosaikunda village and attract more tourists and help in economic, social and development through tourism.

This will make Panchpokhari known religiously and culturally and will be an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, said village chairman Tashi Lama. Tilmanpas, which is the nearest destination from Kathmandu and is connected to the Gosainkunda village municipality of Rasuwa, is connected to Panchpokhari Thangpal village municipality. Subash Tamang, chairman of the tourism promotion committee of the village municipality, said that a study is underway to open the trials and a new mountain will be named. Tilmanpas is considered important for adventurous trails.
