Enforcement of prohibitory order has been extended up to May 26 in the Kathmandu Valley. A meeting of the Chief District Officers of three districts (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) of the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday decided to prolong the enforcement of the order for two more weeks.

Kathmandu CDO Kali Prasad Rijal informed that the prohibitory order has to be prolonged in view of the rise in the risk of COVID-19 pandemic. According to the new order, the sale and purchase of most essential goods would remain open up to 10.00 am. Earlier it was allowed up to 9.00 am only.

During the time, the groceries of the most essential food items, business and departmental stores (only for the sale of food items) would remain open.
