A rhino was found dead in Chitwan National Park on Monday. A 35-year-old male rhino was found dead in the inner (core) area of ​​the park.

According to Lokendra Adhikari, information officer of the park, the rhino was found dead on the south bank of the confluence of the Riu and Rapti rivers. It is estimated that the rhinoceros died of old age. The rhinoceros is regularly seen in the Baghmara Post and Golaghat area of ​​the park and is under maintenance, said the official. The horns of the rhino are safe.

In the current fiscal year, 13 rhinos have been killed due to natural causes, and four by poachers. The park is conducting a study by forming a committee after the number of rhinos dying and being killed increased in the park. The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee of the House of Representatives have also observed the park on the spot and discussed with the park staff and security personnel and local people's representatives.
