Akama Hotel Ltd. Announces Ramada by Wyndham Partnership in Nepal

Akama Hotel Ltd. partners with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to bring the prestigious Ramada by Wyndham brand to the heart of Kathmandu

Akama Hotel Ltd., a prominent hotel development and investment company based in Nepal, has officially entered into a franchise agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for the development of a new hotel in Kathmandu under the midscale Ramada by Wyndham brand.

Situated in the heart of Kathmandu, the capital and most populous city of Nepal, the proposed Ramada by Wyndham Kathmandu Dhumbarai is strategically located just 3 kilometers from the UNESCO world heritage site, Pashupatinath Temple, and 4.5 kilometers from the Tribhuvan International Airport. The hotel boasts stunning views of the Kathmandu Valley, nestled in the high plateaus of central Nepal at an elevation of 4,600 feet.

Anticipated to open its doors in 2024, the hotel will feature a modern design with 109 contemporary rooms and an array of amenities, including a lobby lounge, an all-day dining restaurant and bar, a health club, a spa, a swimming pool, a meeting room, and a business center.

Mr. Binaya Kumar Shrestha, Chairman of M/s Akama Hotel Ltd., expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating, "We are pleased to collaborate with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world's largest hotel franchise company, to introduce the prestigious Ramada by Wyndham brand to Kathmandu. Upon reaching full operational capacity, the hotel is expected to create over 100 direct employment opportunities, contributing to the economic development of Kathmandu.
