Hiking is a perfect way to be one with the nature

Is anything better than exploring the woods and having a good conversation with your friends? Hiking is a way of getting away from the hassle of urban life to a more natural environment for a short period of time. Enjoying unique natural features and wildlife is what a traveller never forgets. Some of the hiking places in and around Kathmandu valley that you will never regret going there.

Shivapuri hike

Shivapuri is the home of thousands of flora and fauna and also birds. Shivapuri is the best hiking place, s it is the second-highest hill station in the Kathmandu valley. It is the perfect place to enjoy the nature around Kathmandu and see the beautiful Langtang Himalayan range. 5-6 hours of hiking may be exhausting, but the magnificent view of the Kathmandu valley, nature, waterfall, Langtang mountain range, Annapurna range, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Gauri Sanker and a few peaks of Rowling range from the top of the Shivapuri is always exciting.

Kakani hike

Kakani hiking guides you through green fields, enjoying the views of rural Nepalese life. Kakani is famous for Himalayan trout fish, and you can find them in the Restaurant at the top of the Kakani hill station. Bushes of bright red strawberries greet you as you enter the beautiful hamlet of Kakani. Once you reach the top of Kakani hill station, you can enjoy spectacular views of High snow-capped mountains like the Langtang Himal range, Ganesh Himal ranges, Manaslu, Annapurna, Fishtail, Dorje Lakpa, etc., with a clear blue sky. You can also enjoy a close view of the daily lifestyle of the Tamangs, who are an ethnic group in Nepal.

 


Nagarkot hike

Nagarkot is a great place for hiking for sweeping views and beautiful sunrise and sunset. It is the most popular one-day hike, also known as a nature walk in Kathmandu. Walking through the highland Tamang village up to the Nagarkot 360 view tower is an amazing experience and an observing countryside lifestyle. The breathtaking close-up views of snow-capped mountains along with incredible sunrise views over mighty Mount Everest. Taking a nature walk along the pine and rhododendron forest and enjoying the view of Kathmandu valley from the view tower is worth it. Nagarkot hiking is the best way to re-energise your soul in a calm atmosphere close to the heart of nature.

Sundarijal hike

Sundarijal hike is the perfect day for hiking going through the natural park, villages, forest, monastery, waterfalls, cliff, etc. It takes about 5-6 hours of hiking to reach the Sundarijal. Sundarijal hike passes through Budhanikantha temple, Shivapuri conservation area, villages and the Buddhist shrine Nagi Gumba. Hearing birds chirping is the perfect thing in Sundarijal. You can also observe the magnificent view of Kathmandu valley from Tare Bhir. Cycling is also good on this trail. This is the route blended with natural vegetation, wild animals, and the place for many varieties of butterflies and birds. It also has a cultural fragrance which is really amazing.

Phulchowki hike 

Phulchowki is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in terms of vegetation and offers the chance to see various birds. In Nepal, “Phulcowki” means “hill full of flowers”. It is a wonderful site where the hills come alive in the springtime. Many varieties of trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and beautiful rhododendron and magnolia are in full bloom. Phulchowki Mai Temple is an important Hindu pilgrimage site on the top f the hill. A wonderful view of the high Himalayan peaks of Annapurna and Manaslu peaks in the far west, Ganesh, Langtang, and Jugal Himal range in the middle north, and Mt. Everest and its range to the east.
