Escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu at Sisneri Natural Swimming Pool, a unique natural pool surrounded by rocks

Are you tired of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city and looking for a perfect getaway to spend your weekend? Look no further than Sisneri Natural Swimming Pool located in the Makwanpur district of Nepal. With crystal clear aqua green water and surrounded by large rocks, Sisneri offers a breathtaking natural swimming experience that is unmatched by any swimming pool in Kathmandu Valley.

Getting to Sisneri

Sisneri is located about 33 km away from Kathmandu, but public transport to Sisneri is rare from Dakshinkali. The road condition is not so good, and you will need to drive off-road to reach Sisneri. We suggest taking a private vehicle to reach Sisneri, and the Dakshinkali route is the most popular and easiest way to get there.

Swimming in the Natural Pool

The main attraction of Sisneri is the natural swimming pool, where visitors can swim and chill in the laps of nature. The main pool is deep with slippery stones, so we recommend caution while swimming. However, there are other smaller pools around the main pool that are less crowded and ideal for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle.

Exploring Nearby Places

Sisneri offers not just a beautiful natural swimming pool, but also numerous other places to explore nearby. Visitors can choose to spend a day at Sisneri or move towards Chitlang for an overnight stay after an exhausting day of swimming.

Route to Sisneri

The Dakshinkali route is the most popular and easiest way to reach Sisneri. However, there is another alternative route through Markhu, which is about 49 km away from Thamel. From Gurjudhara Chowk, visitors can take a left turn to Markhu and further drive to reach Sisneri. However, the road condition through this route is narrow and rough, making it challenging to drive.

Entrance Fee and Facilities

To swim in the natural pool, visitors must pay an entrance fee of Npr 50. Changing rooms and parking spaces are available, but it may be difficult to find a parking space during peak tourist season.

Sisneri Natural Swimming Pool offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu City. With crystal clear aqua green water and surrounded by large rocks, swimming in the natural pool at Sisneri is an experience like no other. Visitors can explore nearby places and choose to stay overnight at Chitlang or Markhu after an exhausting day of swimming. So, pack your bags, take a private vehicle, and head towards Sisneri for a perfect getaway.
