3. ULTRALIGHT FLIGHT

7. TREKKING

Pokhara has always been famous place trekking because of its location which is near to a lot of mountains. Some of these points include Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp, Dhampus Trek, Muktinath & Jomsom Trek, Royal Trek, Mardi Himal Trek and so on. One need to have some technical skills, healthy body ad mentally stable in order to try this activity as trekking is never a cup of tea. You will encounter lots of difficulties in the way but all the stunning views, flora and fauna, endangered animals, lush green fields etc. will take away your pain by giving relief and serene peace within you.

Things to keep in mind: Check weather before going for trekking, always carry a large daypack which should be light but filled with items like extra pair of hiking socks, fleece jacket, water bottles and other options, carry a professional level trekking equipment etc.

BEST SEASON

Although you can visit the city at any time, the best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). This way, you avoid the cold winter and the rainy season.

GETTING THERE

You can take a tourist bus or taxi if you are coming from Kathmandu. The journey usually lasts for 6-7 hours long. Taxis are also available from nearby cities and from India also. Alternatively, you can take a flight from Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) which will land you on Pokhara Airport.

Cost: For bus, it will cost around US $ 10 - US $ 25 depending upon bus services, for minibus, it will cost around US $10 (cheapest option), for taxi, it will cost around US $60 to US $ 80 and for flight, it will cost above US $100.
