Bagmati Province government has constructed 1,339 kilometers of road in the last two years.
According to the Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry, different subordinate bodies of the Ministry have constructed 807 km dust road and 155 km blacktopped road.
Similarly, 320 km of gravel road and 24 km of RCC road were constructed during the period. A total of 33 different bridges were constructed during the period and 55 more bridges would be completed within the end of the current fiscal year, said Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, Rameshwor Phunyal.
Minister Phunyal shared construction of the other 45 bridges has reached the final phase. He further said that the ‘One tap, one house’ program has been forwarded in all local levels of the Province, the emphasis has been laid on irrigation facility to increase agro production and process to protect well, ponds and stone taps have been forwarded.
Minister Phunyal added that preparation has been made to announce the tender for the construction of a tunnel connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu.
Foundation stone for Sindhulimadi-Bhumesthan-Chakmake-Katari road has been laid which is 1,456 kilometers and Rs 344 million would be invested for the same.
Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry, Sanjeev Baral, said that the Bagmati Province government has already initiated the process for the operation of electric buses.
