As the Chinese New Year approaches, Radisson Hotel Kathmandu gears up with a wholesome food festival

Pleasant tunes, immaculate décor ornaments and traditional dragon dances were the highlight on January 25 at Radisson Hotel Kathmandu. Hosting The Chinese Food Festival at The Fun Café, the hotel aims to bring the authenticity and festivities here in Kathmandu. Starting January 25 and running until February 8, the gastronomic journey laid out by the in-house Chef’s will definitely tantalise your taste buds.

The opening date of the festival saw guests enjoying cultural demonstrations and entertaining performances from a troupe all the way from China. Mingling over Chinese tea and a lavish buffet, media personnel along with the hotel team witnessed the opulence of Chinese décor and their cuisine.

Chinese dressed hostesses greet you with smiles and pleasantries, as you go around observing the sights, sounds and smells of the festival you will immediately be taken aback by the grandeur of it all. Standing out from the rest, the delicacies ranging from salads, Crackling Crabs, Sichuan style vegetables, Chicken Kung Pao, Roast Pork and Turkey, its rich spices and flavours will engulf you.

General Manager, Subrata Banerjee mentioned, “The motive of the festival is to enhance and promote Chinese food and culture and highlight its impact on the global scale. Chinese food’s diversity and evolution over the years has made a profound impact on Nepal’s people’s perception of food and daily eating habits.”

Starting January 26 to February 8, the festival will be promoted for both lunch and dinner at The Fun Café. Some delights you simply cannot miss out are the Seafood Lung Fung soup, Kung Pao chicken, Crackling Crab in chilli oyster sauce, Honey Glazed Roast Pork ribs enhanced with five spices, Crispy chilli shredded Lamb with sesame, Water Chestnut Bok Choy and Broccoli Hunan style, date pancake and many more.  The Chinese buffet priced at Rs 1800 + taxes includes Chinese buffet, complimentary Chinese tea, and a bottle of beer or soft drink per person.
