KGH Foundation gearing up for its most exciting event: The Amazing Motor Rally, for a great cause. With a purpose to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2020, support cancer awareness and safe driving along with donating the profits to education related charity, KGH is set to make a mark in the hotelier industry

On January 29, KGH Group of Hotels organised a press meet at  Maya Manor Boutique Hotel to discuss one of their most awaited events— The 6th edition of Jyoti Life The Amazing Moto Rally 2019 Kathmandu-Pokhara. KGH Foundation partnered up with Nepal Cancer Relief Society with sponsorships from Jyoti Life Insurance to host a motor rally starting from Nepal Tourism Board to Himalayan Front Hotel at  Sarangkot with about 200 km in between the points.

Starting this February 1st keeping World Cancer Day in mind (that falls on the 4th of February), KGH Foundation aims to promote VISIT NEPAL 2020 with great enthusiasm along with many sections of Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs. They promptly focus on decorating the participating automobiles with stickers of Nepal Tourism Board along with other charts and banners that depict an anti-cancer or cancer prevention message. The purpose of the decor is also to attract onlookers towards the event to let them know the message behind the extravagant rally. The participants have to sign in at 8 checkpoints during the journey and complete a series of assigned tasks to score points. Since most of these assignments involve sharing what they have been asked to do on social media, it is expected that the event will garner viewers and peak further interest on the platform.

Besides actively supporting tourism and promoting cancer awareness, the rally also hopes to encourage safe driving. By implementing the use of special GPS devices in every participant’s car, the organisers will be able to track and proclaim winners based on TDS or time, distance and speed. The machine automatically disqualifies a team if the speed exceeds the limit of 85 kmph; participants who reach the destinations ahead of time are given 20 points whereas who reach later than set time are receive 10. And participants with the least points will be declared winners. By advocating safe driving with the use of such advanced technology and conditional ruses of prizes, the KGH Foundation is contributing a lot to the Nepali society where a rampant increase of road accidents seems to be increasing daily.

Keeping in mind that anything can happen, vehicles teamed with medical personnels will also be trailing at the end of the rally, along with another vehicle that will provide mechanical help.

The chief guests for the event were Diwakar Rajkarnikar, the chair of Jyoti Life The Amazing Moto Rally 2019, Sunil Shakya, chair of Kathmandu Guest House Hotels, Umesh Prasad Mainali, chair of Jyoti Life Insurance, Lokendra Kumar Shrestha, regional president of Nepal Cancer Relief Society and Shrinkhala Khatiwada, Miss Nepal World 2018. All the guests passionately spoke of the importance of the rally and how the participants are urged to enjoy with the sense of responsibility. Among the participants are Miss Nepal 2018 winners, Shrinkhala Khatiwada, Priya Sigdel, Ronali Amatya, Mahima Singh and Miss Nepal Earth, Rojina Shrestha.

Guests were served high tea after the initial presentation about the rally and press meet in their garden. And as the day for Jyoti Life The Amazing Moto Rally 2019 draws close, people will be gearing up for the exciting event. All the profit will be donated to charity and on the Februrary 2nd, the amount collected will be used to donate school bags and supplies to underprivileged children.
