Actively engaged in the industry, he also serves as Treasurer of the Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO). He views tourism as a balance of profession, passion, and responsibility—committed to delivering meaningful travel experiences while preserving Nepal’s cultural and natural heritage. Despite challenges such as connectivity, infrastructure, and service standards, he believes that with stronger collaboration, skilled professionals, sustainability, and effective digital storytelling, Nepal can position itself as a high-value, year-round destination.
What drew you to the tourism industry, and how has your career progressed since then?
Growing up around heritage sites, rich culture, and the Himalayas, I was constantly exposed to travellers seeking experiences I had always considered home. This sparked a simple curiosity: why do people travel so far to discover this?
That question led me into tourism. I began in operations and gradually moved into product development, international partnerships, and leadership. Over time, my focus has shifted from conventional sightseeing to crafting immersive, personalised journeys that create genuine connections.
What core values guide your leadership and decision-making as Managing Director?
Integrity and long-term relationships are at the heart of my approach. I believe in delivering authentic experiences while prioritising sustainability, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
Equally important is listening—understanding travellers, partners, and teams to create meaningful journeys. This ensures we are not just a service provider, but a trusted companion.
How do you see Nepal positioning itself in the global luxury and experiential travel market?
Luxury in Nepal is defined by feeling, not material excess. With its culture, spirituality, and natural beauty, Nepal is well placed in the experiential travel space.
With stronger infrastructure, skilled professionals, and focused global marketing, Nepal can confidently position itself as a premium destination for travellers seeking meaning and connection.

How important is cross-border tourism—such as Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet circuits—in your overall business strategy?
It is a key strategy. Combining Nepal with Bhutan and Tibet creates a compelling Himalayan journey that appeals to long-haul travellers.
These circuits enhance value, diversify experiences, and strengthen regional collaboration.
What key elements define a truly memorable travel experience in Nepal?
Genuine cultural immersion, seamless operations, personalised attention, and meaningful takeaways define a memorable journey.
When thoughtfully combined, travellers leave with more than memories—they leave with a deep emotional connection to Nepal.
What are the most pressing challenges facing Nepal’s tourism industry today, and what changes would you like to see?
Nepal’s tourism industry holds immense potential, though it faces key challenges such as road & air connectivity, airport capacity, visitor facilities in emerging destinations, and inconsistencies in service standards. Encouragingly, these are all highly addressable.
Stronger collaboration among stakeholders, investment in skilled hospitality professionals, and a firm commitment to sustainability, supported by a unified digital brand are essential to position Nepal as a year-round destination, while effective storytelling and digital promotion can showcase a nation that goes far beyond Everest and temples, highlighting a welcoming, diverse, and enriching experience.
With the right direction and collective effort, Nepal has every ingredient to evolve into a high-value, experience-driven destination—transforming today’s challenges into tomorrow’s strengths.
For someone visiting Nepal for the first time, what is one experience you would highly recommend?
For a first-time visitor, rather than highlighting just one product, I would emphasize the overall experience, starting from the very first impression at the airport, followed by a warm, professional welcome that ensures a safe and well-supported journey throughout.
Nepal offers a perfect balance of adventure, culture, and mountain wonder, allowing travelers to truly fall in love with the country in the right way. And once that connection is made, there is always so much more to explore.
