1. Besakih Temple
Pura Besakih is a temple complex in the village of Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung in eastern Bali, Indonesia. It is the most important, the largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali, and one of a series of Balinese temples. Also known as the ‘mother temple’ the architecture promises to keep you captivated. It is surrounded by breathtaking views of rice paddies, hills, mountains, streams, and more. During the day Besakih is a little crowded, the best time to visit would be early morning and in the evening as the complex is much quieter during these hours.

2. Ubud Monkey Forest
Also known as ‘Sacred Monkey Forest’ it is one of the most popular attractions for tourists. Besides watching playful monkeys in their natural habitat, swinging, lazing along pathways or feeding on bananas, the site offers cool walks along pathways through a thriving forest. Also, you can check out the Ubud Royal Palace and shop at the Ubud Art Market, all only a 10-minute drive away.
3. Kintamani and Mount Batur
A Bali volcano can be a sightseeing highlight on your next trip to Bali's highland region. The Kintamani volcano or Mount Batur, in particular, is a very popular trek. The captivating Mount Batur surrounds the 13-sq km Batur caldera lake. Those with a penchant for adventure can take a winding road down to the lake shore. This leads you to Toya Bungkah, Ulun Danu Batur temple, and a collection of hot springs. The Kintamani area consists of three main villages, namely Penelokan, Batur, and Kintamani. There are also some old Balinese villages around Batur Lake, often referred to as Bali Aga villages. Penelokan is a popular stopover. It serves as a vantage point at the southernmost part of the crater rim. From here, you can enjoy the sweeping views over the magnificent Bali volcano.

Goa Gajah
Located on the western fringe of Bedulu Village just minutes from central Ubud, Elephant Cave Temple is a historically significant archaeological site and popular tourist attraction. Despite its name, you won’t find any pachyderms here, unless you count the stone figure of Ganesh. A special place to visit, tourists staying in Ubud won’t need more than an hour to explore the relics contained in the courtyard, meditation cave, fountains, bathing pools and rock-wall carvings.
